Frequently Used Reselling Acronyms

The Latest Poshmark News, Tips & FAQs!

As online reselling becomes increasingly popular, it’s essential for sellers to understand the various acronyms used in the reselling community. These acronyms simplify communication between sellers, buyers, and other resellers, making it easier to buy and sell online.

Here are some frequently used reselling acronyms and what they mean:

  1. NWT – New with Tags NWT refers to an item that is brand new and still has the original tags attached. This term is commonly used on online reselling platforms such as eBay, Poshmark, and Mercari. If an item is NWT, it typically sells for a higher price than a similar item that has been worn or used.
  2. NWOT – New without Tags NWOT refers to an item that is brand new but does not have the original tags attached. This could mean that the item was purchased but never worn or used. If an item is NWOT, it may still sell for a higher price than a similar item that has been worn or used, but typically not as high as an NWT item.
  3. EUC – Excellent Used Condition EUC refers to an item that has been used but is still in excellent condition. This term is often used when selling clothing, shoes, and accessories. If an item is in EUC, it typically sells for a higher price than a similar item that is in fair or poor condition.
  4. BNIB – Brand New in Box BNIB refers to an item that is brand new and still in the original packaging. This term is often used when selling electronics, beauty products, and other items that come in boxes. If an item is BNIB, it typically sells for a higher price than a similar item that has been opened or used.
  5. ISO – In Search Of ISO is often used by buyers who are looking for a specific item that they cannot find on their own. For example, a buyer may post on a reselling platform that they are ISO a certain pair of shoes or a specific book. If a seller has the item the buyer is looking for, they may contact the buyer and offer to sell it to them.
  6. OBO – Or Best Offer OBO is often used by sellers who are willing to negotiate on price. For example, a seller may list an item for $50 but include OBO in the listing, indicating that they are open to receiving offers from buyers. If a seller receives multiple offers, they may choose the highest one or negotiate with the buyer to reach a mutually agreeable price.
  7. PM – Private Message PM is often used as a verb, meaning to send a private message to another user on a reselling platform. Private messages are often used for negotiating prices, asking questions about an item, or discussing payment and shipping options. If a buyer is interested in purchasing an item, they may PM the seller to ask about the item’s condition, shipping costs, or other details.
  8. NIB – New in Box NIB is similar to BNIB but refers specifically to an item that is brand new and still in the original packaging. This term is often used when selling collectibles or limited edition items. If an item is NIB, it typically sells for a higher price than a similar item that has been opened or used.
  9. BIN – Buy It Now BIN is often used by sellers who do not want to receive offers from buyers and instead want to sell an item at a fixed price. For example, a seller may list an item for $100 and include BIN in the listing, indicating that the buyer can purchase the item immediately for that price.
